Almanac Calendar

Markers for auspicious days and cautions drawn from the Tong Shu almanac, the zodiac sign that clashes with each day, the division of the day into double-hours, and the dates of Chinese festivals. All are computed from the date by traditional rules, so they can be checked.

Most markers follow the lunar calendar while everyday life follows the solar one. The gap is why these dates move annually — the same reason Chinese New Year never lands on a fixed date.

Choosing timing for weddings, openings, and travel is what this tradition has long been used for. It is not a forecasting tool for draws — no day makes guessing a number more likely to succeed.
